Area Accomodations
San Jose del Cabo is the nearest town to the Tsegyalgar West Gar. Allow 45 minutes from your hotel room door to the teaching site, with 30 minutes of that a sometimes-challenging dirt road. An SUV or truck is recommended. A car can make it, but the bottom will scrape.
The Posada Real Best Western is $130 per night including great breakfast buffet, draft beer and wine. Senor Manana’s is the basic backpacker hotel. Both are in San Jose del Cabo, not Cabo San Lucas.
Allow an additional 30 minutes North to our home away from home, The Hotel Buena Vista. Rinpoche has led two retreats there before the Gar was ready.
Most enjoy camping at the Gar. Just remember, it can get quite cold at night in the winter, and an air mattress is a wonderful thing! And yes, there are hot showers.
